Musicians – Woodwind
The Welsh Musical Theatre Orchestra is one of the UK’s brightest up-coming orchestras, with a broadening portfolio of work throughout Wales, the UK and internationally.
The Orchestra is almost entirely funded by the revenue from concert ticket sales and its own fund raising initiatives and this is supplemented by some small grants from businesses and local councils.
The Welsh Musical Theatre Orchestra is looking for woodwind players to add to a database of exceptional players who are invited to play at our concerts.
We are looking for applications from Flautists, Clarinetists, Bassoonists and Oboists.
Where required, our usual doublings are:
- Flute, doubling piccolo
- Oboe
- Clarinet, doubling Soprano Saxophone and Alto Saxophone
- Clarinet, doubling Alto Saxophone and Tenor Saxophone
Fees and expenses vary from concert to concert and will be made clear at point of contract.
Successful candidates will have a sound knowledge of, and a passion for, the musical theatre genre.
Auditions will be held at the convenience of the panel in South Wales, although Skype auditions can be arranged where travel is prohibitive. Candidates will be asked to prepare two pieces supplied by WMTO and will be asked to sight-read a further piece.
